Acceptable Use Policy

A short list of what gets the service switched off. It exists because the reputation of the receiving machines is shared by every customer.

Last changed: 4 September 2026

Why these rules are what they are

Our machines receive mail for many domains at once. One abuse complaint hits the addresses everyone else works from — which is why the prohibitions here are stricter than «obey the law».

We do not read message content. We see a breach by its outward signs: complaints, our addresses appearing on blocklists, abnormal traffic.

Forbidden

  • Connecting domains you neither own nor administer.
  • Using received mail for phishing, credential theft or defrauding people.
  • Receiving confirmations for accounts created on someone else's identity, or in ways that break the law.
  • Anything that puts our addresses and host names on blocklists.
  • Material whose distribution is unlawful in the United Kingdom or where you are.
  • Reselling the service or giving third parties access to it without an agreement with us.
  • Attempting to reach other people's accounts, mailboxes and data, or loading the service beyond reasonable use.

What we do not do, and cannot let you do

The service only receives your mail. A CUSTOMER cannot send through it: mailboxes are issued for reading, and sending from them is not set up at all.

So bulk sending through Catchall is not «against the rules» — it simply does not work. If someone promised you otherwise, they were not describing us. Our own service messages — confirmations and codes — we send ourselves, from a separate domain of ours.

What a breach costs

  • Suspension of reception for the domain or the whole account — immediately and without warning while harm continues.
  • Release of the domain and removal of our records.
  • No refund of a spent balance. An unspent balance is refunded on the usual terms.
  • Disclosure to law enforcement where the law requires it.

Complaints

If you received unwanted mail connected to our addresses, or noticed abuse, write to us through the form on this site. Abuse reports are handled ahead of everything else.

The service is operated by 301ST Ltd, 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
